Shalu Chaudhary is a teaching faculty with the Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar. She has had a career of impactful public health practice before this and has contributed to several policies and policy evidence for the Government of Gujarat. Her key contributions include the Gujarat Quality of Care Strategy, Gujarat Health Systems Research Strategy, Gujarat State Action Plan for Antimicrobial Resistance, COVID 3rd Wave Plan-Guidance for Districts. She has also served as District Program Officer for Non-communicable diseases and Epidemic Intelligence Officer for Banaskantha District and has received awards for exemplary contributions for providing services to the remotest people of the district. She has also undertaken several training workshops for public health managers.
She has also published several research papers and has received three awards for presenting her works in national conferences. Her academic areas of interest include health systems, public health nutrition, and primary health care.
Currently along with her engagement as a teaching faculty, she is also the team lead for the Independent Verification Agency for SRESTHA Gujarat Programme (A World Bank-supported PforR programme). Her team supports the Government of Gujarat in health systems strengthening by generating evidence and knowledge products for action.
Apart from her professional work, she is a classical flute and harmonium player and a mixed media artist with two successful exhibitions of her work.
