Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) (Only for MBBS doctors) - Course Duration: 3 Months

DGFASLI has released the advertisement for AFIH 2023. The institute code for IIPHG is 08. Our tuition fees are Rs. 45000 for sponsored candidates and Rs. 35000 for non-sponsored candidates. Application fee is Rs. 500. Interested candidates may apply as per the instructions given in the advertisement (the link below). The fees payable to DGFASLI by students at all institutes are given in the course advertisement issued by DGFASLI on page 4 under the heading ‘Fee’. These are in addition to Tuition fees of the Institutes.


Applications complete in all respects along with self-attested photo copies of certificates in duplicate shall be prepared and one set of the application to be sent by post and also in email in single PDF format to AR (Academic Programs), Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar, Opposite Air Force Head Quarters, Near Lekawada Bus Stop, Gandhinagar-Chiloda Road, Lekawada, CRPF.P.O, Gandhinagar – 382042, Gujarat, India. AFIH is a three month full time course regulated by DGFASLI (Director General of Factory Advisory Services & Labour Institutes, Govt. of India). As per Factories Act, this is a mandatory qualification for doctors working in hazardous industry. Other industries also prefer to hire AFIH qualified doctors. IIPHG has started this course in December 2013 with support from NIOH (National Institute of Occupational Health, Ahmedabad, ICMR’s apex institute for Occupational Health) and Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS) Medical College, SOLA, Ahmedabad. MBBS doctors with a minimum of two year experience after internship can apply for this course. This course covers basics of industrial health, occupational diseases, toxicology, environmental health, ergonomics, labour laws related to health, safety and other related matters. It equips doctors to deal with any occupational health issues in any setting.
