The admission process at IIPHG for the various programs includes the following steps and considerations:
To ensure the smooth execution of the admission process, an admission committee has been formed. This committee comprises faculty members and administrative staff and is headed by the Registrar. The committee is responsible for monitoring, managing, and resolving any issues that arise during the admission process.
All received applications are scrutinized, and eligible candidates are identified. For these eligible candidates, the subsequent admission process is followed.
Instructions for Application:

  • The online application is for admission to programs offered at the Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar.
  • Application Form Fee is Non-Refundable.
  • The Email ID submitted at the time of registration will be used for all correspondence until enrolment is completed. Changes to the Email ID will NOT be permitted under any circumstances.

1. Timeline for Admission Process:

    • The application announcement and process commence during the third week of January every year.
    • Applications are accepted until the specified date.
    • The entrance exam and interviews are conducted in the month of June.
    • The merit list is declared in the month of June/July.
    • The academic session begins in July/ August.

2. Screening Test:

    • All eligible candidates who meet the formal requirements and eligibility criteria will be invited to take an online screening test.
    • Prior to the test, candidates will be provided with a mock screening test and a video guide.
    • The screening test will include questions related to general math (up to the 10th standard), logic and reasoning, general knowledge (Bais Health & Hospital related), and basic English.

3. Panel Interview:

• Candidates who clear the screening test will be called for a personal interview.
• The interview assesses the candidates on various factors such as;

    • Presentation
    • Subject knowledge and General awareness
    • Academic Aptitude and Motivation to join the course
    • Communication skills and language proficiency
    • Extra-curricular Activities

4. Academic Performance:

    • Candidates are assessed based on their academic performance in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
    • The assessment considers the percentage of marks obtained in the relevant UG or PG programs. For undergraduate degrees, the scoring is based on the duration of the degree (e.g., 3, 4, or 5 years).
    • Final year or relevant semester marks are considered, and CGPA is converted to a percentage if necessary, following prescribed norms.

5. Professional and Research Experience:

    • Candidates are evaluated on their professional and research experience in fields such as public health, clinical health, development sectors, research, and management.
    • The evaluation of experience is based on the duration and relevance of the work experience, which must be gained after completing the graduation. Internships are not counted toward experience, and overlapping experiences are not considered. The candidate must provide certificates to substantiate the duration and nature of their work.

6. Merit List and Admission:

    • After taking into consideration the performance in the screening test, panel interview, academic performance, and professional and research experience, a merit list is prepared.
    • Admissions are offered to students based on their position in the merit list and the availability of seats in the respective program.

7. Admission Cancellation and Fee Refund:

    • IIPHG follows the UGC policy for admission cancellation and fee refunds.
    • As per the UGC guidelines, the process for admission cancellation and fee refund is implemented to ensure transparency and compliance.

The admission process at IIPHG is meticulously designed to ensure transparency, fairness, and merit-based selection. Through a combination of objective assessments and personal evaluations, the institute identifies candidates who are best suited for its programs. The timeline is structured to allow ample time for application, evaluation, and enrollment, culminating in the commencement of the academic session in July/August.
