Admission Process

The Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) follows a transparent, merit-based, and multi-stage admission process for its full-time, on-campus postgraduate programs including MPH, MPH–PHN, and MHA.

Step 1: Online Application

    • Candidates must apply through the Online Application Portal of IIPHG.
    • Applicants are required to submit:
      • Academic details
      • Relevant documents
      • A Statement of Purpose (SOP) (250–500 words outlining career goals and motivation)

Final-year undergraduate students are eligible to apply; admission is confirmed upon submission of final results before course commencement.

Step 2: Screening Test (40% Weightage)

    • Shortlisted applicants are required to appear for an online MCQ-based screening test.
    • The test assesses:
      • Basic mathematics (up to 10th standard)
      • Logical reasoning
      • General knowledge (with focus on health and hospital sector)
      • English language proficiency
    • No negative marking is applicable.
    • A mock test and video guide are shared in advance to help candidates prepare.

Step 3: Personal Interview (50% Weightage)

    • Candidates shortlisted from the screening test are invited for a personal or online interview.
    • The interview panel evaluates:
      • Subject understanding
      • Motivation for public health / healthcare management
      • Communication and presentation skills
      • General awareness
      • Extra-curricular and professional exposure

Step 4: Academic Performance Review (10% Weightage)

    • Undergraduate academic performance is considered as part of the final merit.
    • Marksheets are evaluated, and CGPA (if applicable) is converted into percentage as per prescribed norms.

Step 5: Merit List & Admission Offer

    • A final merit list is prepared based on the combined weightage of:
      • Screening Test (40%)
      • Personal Interview (50%)
      • Academic Performance (10%)
    • Selected candidates receive a provisional admission offer with details of:
      • Fee payment
      • Instalment options
      • Hostel facilities
      • Important academic timelines
