Dr. Komal Shah is a biomedical scientist and has completed her doctorate and post doctorate studies with life sciences. She has more than 12 years of research experience in the field of clinical and biomedical research with special focus on prevention and control of Non-communicable diseases (NCD). She has worked extensively in understanding Cardiovascular disease burden, identifying diagnostics and prognostics tools specific for Western Indian population. She also has keen interest in advanced epidemiology and applied bio-statistics. Her earlier work involved designing and development of risk stratification models for prediction and optimum management of NCDs through statistical modelling. She has registered substantial number of systematic reviews and meta-analysis at PROSPERO. Her research work resulted in significant publications in the journals of national and international repute with an overall H and I index of more than 10. She also has experience in teaching various post-graduate courses students.

She had joined India Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar as Economic Evaluation Specialist under Health Technology Assessment Regional Resource Centre (HTA-RRC). As a part of HTARRC she was actively involved in undertaking cost-effectiveness studies of the centre. She also served as a resource person for numerous workshops on Health Technology Assessment across India.
