
About Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is driven by the vision of bringing transformational change to rural development by harnessing the potential of knowledge institutions to contribute towards building an inclusive India. Its mission is envisioned as a movement that connects institutions of higher education with local communities, enabling them to collectively address rural developmental challenges through participatory approaches and appropriate technologies that promote sustainable growth. The program also strives to establish a positive cycle between society and an inclusive academic system by sharing knowledge and practices for emerging professions, while simultaneously enhancing the capacities of both public and private sectors to meet the evolving needs of rural development.
UBA Cell to coordinate and implement the program’s activities within higher educational institutions. The Cell acts as the nodal point for planning, monitoring, and facilitating collaboration between the institute and adopted rural villages. Its key functions include identifying developmental challenges, mobilizing faculty and students for fieldwork, promoting participatory rural development practices, and channelizing academic knowledge and innovative technologies towards sustainable solutions. Through these efforts, the UBA Cell ensures effective linkage between the academic community and rural society, thereby contributing to the vision of inclusive and sustainable development.
