An Master of Science in Health Economics and Technology Assessment is crucial as India’s Health Technology Assessment gains momentum. Course gains its importance from the requirement of the staff trained in HTA for conducting studies. This program will help the students learn and evaluate health intervention’s social, economic, and ethical impacts.

Regional Resource Centre for Health Technology Assessment (HTA – RRC) was established at the Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar in April 2018. With support from the Department of Health Research, Government of India. HTA- RRC at IIPHG works with the vision to formulate safe, effective health policies that are patient/population-focused and cost-effective. The regional resource Centre at the institute believes in strengthening the health system.
As well as it regularly collaborates closely with the state government to prioritize allocating health system resources. Additionally the Centre works closely with the state government through a technical advisory committee. Committee is chaired by the Commissioner of Health and co-chaired by MD, NHM. The executive director of SHSRC is the state nodal officer of the committee, and Additional Directors from the Department of Health are the members.

Teaching Pedagogy
Teaching Pedagogy shall consist of lectures, seminars, assignments, and case discussions. Master of Science courses emphasize interactive teaching methods like pre-reads, case studies, and policy brief discussions for effective learning. Also learning of students shall be enhanced by following an evidence-based approach. Learn by doing through individual assignments and/or group projects, simulations or computer-aided instructions.
Eligibility
Bachelor’s degrees in medicine, economics, health, and allied/Life sciences, medical graduates (MBBS), Dental graduates (BDS), Graduates of AYUSH (BAMS, BNYS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS), Master of Science (M.Sc.),graduates of four-year degree programs in Veterinary/Nursing Sciences, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Pharmacy, or students with a graduate degree in Statistics/Biostatistics, and Economics.
