Internal Quality Assurance Cell
The University Grants Commission has made it mandatory for all Universities to have an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) through its XII Plan Guidelines for the establishment and monitoring of internal quality assurance cells in Universities.
IQAC is a centralised function of the University to regularly monitor processes and procedures to promote conducive teaching-learning environment. The IQAC also facilitates different initiatives to enhance the quality of educational, research and institutional outcomes.
Vision
To attain realistic quality benchmarks, and foster continuous improvements by promoting culture of excellence, innovation, diversity, and inclusion for the holistic development of all stakeholders of IIPHG.
Mission
To develop benchmarks for quality parameters and be a driving force for achieving academic and administrative excellence at the IIPHG.
Goals of IQAC
- To develop a system for conscious and consistent action to improve the academic and administrative performance of IIPHG.
To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization and institutionalization of quality culture and best practices.
Strategies of IQAC
- Streamline Core Operations: Implement processes to ensure timely completion, and continuous improvement in academic, administrative, and financial tasks.
- Enhance Academic Programmes: Regularly evaluate and update academic programmes to ensure their relevance to current needs and industry expectations.
- Strengthen Assessment Practices: Establish and uphold rigorous evaluation procedures to ensure the credibility and fairness of assessments.
- Leverage Technology for Learning: Integrate modern ICT tools seamlessly into the teaching, learning, and evaluation processes.
- Cultivate Culture of Research, Innovations and Entrepreneurship: Foster the exchange of new ideas and provide an eco-system to translate those ideas into research for impactful decision-making through public policies or practices, generate real-world solutions, or impactful ventures.
- Promote Educational Equity: Develop and implement strategies for generating equal opportunities to diverse population in academics, research and employment opportunities at IIPHG.
- Foster Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Establish and maintain active research collaborations and networking opportunities with other institutions in India and abroad.
- Optimize Support Services: Continuously evaluate and improve the adequacy, maintenance, and functionality of support structures and services for students, faculty, and staff.
Functions of IQAC
- Act as a dynamic system for quality improvements in IIPHG.
- Promote quality culture by proactively promoting measures towards quality enhancement.
- Foster learner-centered education by coordinating quality-enhancing initiatives, prioritizing student needs, and facilitate adoption of participatory teaching and learning processes.
- Establish mechanisms to collect feedback from students, parents, and other stakeholders on academic and administrative processes and analyze feedback to inform quality improvement efforts.
- Promote a strong research culture among faculty and students by providing resources and facilitating collaboration.
- Build an organized methodology of documentation of quality improvement practices and internal communication. Share best practices within IIPHG and with others.
- Organize workshops and seminars on quality-related themes to enhance awareness and knowledge.
- Facilitate the establishment and participation in quality circles for continuous improvement.
- Facilitate collaborations with other institutions in India and abroad.
- Implement strategies to meet the quality standards set by for national and international agencies.
- Prepare IIPHG for national and international accreditation processes.
- Prepare the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) of the IIPHG based on the quality parameters and assessment criteria developed by the relevant accreditation agencies.
