Instruction for filling the application form

(Read the Instructions / Pre-requisite carefully before filling the application form

(A) Before proceeding to apply, please ensure that you have all the enclosures :

ENCLOSURES:

  1. Application fee of Rs.500/- (US$10 for international & SAARC candidates) drawn on Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar to be paid along with the application form. (send your payment Ref. No & Receipt No. on contact@iiphg.org)
  2. Scanned copies of all academic statements in pdf format from class XII onwards.
  3. Copy of resume/curriculum vitae including three referees: two academic + one professional (in case of work experience) in pdf format.

(Please do not send any original certificates-they are to be produced only at the time of personal interview) 

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Towards the end of the form, there is a section called statement of purpose that requires you to answer following questions (word limits of the answer in the brackets). 

  1. What are your career goals and how do you see MPH/MHA will help achieve the same? (200 words)
  2. Why do you feel that you are a good fit for pursuing the programme? (100 words)
  3. What is your expectation from the MPH/ MHA programme? (100 words)
  4. Why do you want to pursue your master’s degree from IIPHG? (100 words)

These questions have to be typed into the answer boxes provided. You may prepare the answer and can copy-paste the same while filling the form. The aspirants applying to both the programmes have to answer the questions twice by tailoring the responses according to the programme.

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Passport size photo of your Face
  • A colour photograph in formals 
  • Maximum size 100KB. 
  • Photo format should be .jpg or .jpeg only. 
  • All the files should be named appropriately (like if Mr Jignesh Patel is uploading his CV, the file should be named as Jignesh Patel_CV).

(B) Instruction for filling the online application form

For providing details regarding academic performance and research experience:

  1. Calculating various scores of academic performances
    1. Calculation of Class XII marks:
      1. Percentage will be decided from calculation of Total marks obtained out of maximum marks as indicated in the transcript 
      2. In case where only Grades are provided, it should be converted to percentage as per the guidelines provided by CBSE or respective boards
    2. Calculation of UG Marks:
      1.  In case of Medical/allied degrees (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, PT, etc), the final year percentage should be provided. Only final year marksheet to be attached.
      2. In case of technical degrees (BE, B.Tech, Pharmacy, etc), the average of 5th-8th semesters is to be considered. If the 8th Semester result is awaited, average of 5th-7th Sem should be provided.  5th to 7th/8th semester marksheet to be attached.
      3. In case of Bachelors Degree of 3 years (BA, BSc, etc), the average of 3 years is to be considered. In case the result of 3rd year is awaited, average of 1st and 2nd year is to be mentioned. 1st to 2nd/3rd year marksheet o be attached.
      4. If the transcript provides only CGPA, it should be converted to percentage as per prescribed norms of the concerned university, if available. Otherwise, the conversion can be made as per the norms of UPSC (e.g, A CGPA of 7 out of 10, will be converted to 70%).
    3.  Calculation of PG Marks:
      1.  The average marks of all the semesters should be considered
      2. In case the final Semester result is awaiting, average of remaining semesters should be provided
      3. If the transcript provides only CGPA, it will be converted to percentage as per prescribed norms of the concerned university, if available. Otherwise, the conversion can be made as per UPSC norms mentioned above. Attach all available marksheet as per semester/ year wise.
      4. Both PG degree and diploma should be accepted for PG scores.
    4. Calculation of scores for integrated programmes:
      1. In case of any integrated course like Pharm.D.  Five-year masters’ programmes, etc., a consolidated mark with 30 percent weightage (instead of 20% for graduate level and 10% weightage for PG level separately) should be calculated. Attach a consolidated marksheet/ 1st to 9th semester.
  2. Calculating professional and research experience 
    1. Relevant experience in the field of public health, clinical health, development sector, research, and management. Appropriateness of experience will be decided by the panel; relevant work experience in health or development sector will be an advantage.  Following details might be helpful in calculation of experience:
      1. Any experience claimed should be obtained after completing the basic qualification (Graduation).
      2. In case of undergraduate degrees with mandatory internship, the experience must be obtained after completion of internship.
      3. Two overlapping experiences cannot be claimed for the same period. (e.g, if a person is employed somewhere during 1st Jan 2020 – 31st March 2020 and he/she engages in another consultancy during the same period, he/she can claim experience on 3 months only, not six months).
      4. Any experience certificate should clearly mention the duration of experience. Attach experience certificate.
      5. Joining letter/appointment letter alone cannot be considered for claiming experience, unless supported by other relevant document (pay slip, bank statement, etc.) to substantiate the duration of the job.
